Hussain Bahia, director professor of The Modified Asphalt Research Center at UW-Madison, USA, plans to make a presentation about the importance of binder modification type and aggregate structure on rutting resistance of asphalt mixtures using image-based multi-scale modelling at 5th international conference «Use of different types of asphalt concrete mixes in road construction».

The event will take place on May 17-18, 2018 at the Intercontinental Hotel Moscow Tverskaya (Tverskaya str, 22).

The Modified Asphalt Research Center at UW-Madison is an international center for fundamental and applied research toward superior asphalt paving technologies.

Among key topics on the conference’s agenda are:

  • Panel discussion “Current state of roads in Russia. Regulatory compliance and road-building requirements versus the construction work conditions in Russia’s regions”
  • Ways to improve the durability of flexible and semi-rigid pavements. Russia’s and international experience
  • AC mixes production and pavement quality control. AC mixes recycling in Russia and abroad
  • Laboratories in the road construction industry. Modern methods of material inspection and analysis
  • Use of asphalt concrete mixes for airfield pavements
