Consequences of Russia’s log exports ban in focus of timber conference on April 22-23

The problems associated with the ban on the export of wood outside Russia will be in the focus of discussion of domestic and foreign experts at the VI International conference «Russian Timber and Sawn Wood Market». The event will be held on 22-23 April in Moscow.

Russia’s president Vladimir Putin has ruled to introduce a complete ban on the export of unprocessed or roughly processed softwood and valuable hardwoods from Russia from January 1, 2022. The Russian government is also considering new regulations aimed at reducing exports of softwood lumber.
